Chief Executive Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) Engineer Shabir Ahmad on Tuesday directed employees to make all out efforts to curb menace of power pilferage, reduce line losses and enhance recovery.
Addressing Joint Works Council meeting held here at WAPDA House, he asked the employees to do pragmatic measures to turn the company into profit earning entity besides, service provider. He said that PESCO was facing huge financial and line losses owing to power pilferage, adding that if the illegal hooks are removed the services would improve and loadshedding would also reduce.
He urged the workers to facilitate the customers and resolve their problems at their door steps so that the company’s image could be improved. Referring cordial relationship between PESCO Management and Union, Chief Executive said PESCO workers are precious assets for the company.
He directed the concerned officials to adopt all safety measures while working on live lines and use T & P items so that fatal accidents may be avoided. He stressed to follow and implement the HSE principles in this regard.
He said that all the legal demands of union would be fulfilled under the rules and regulations. He told that PESCO is implementing a transparent promotion policy and hundreds of employees fulfilling formal requirements were promoted and upgraded in the recent past. Earlier, the PESCO chief discussed agenda points and took decisions regarding delay in pension, marriage grant, immediate release of scholarships, promotions and up gradation of staff, package for deceased employees.
