People to vote on performance in next general election: Gov

We are not satisfied with SC’s decision
Staff Reporter

Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair has said that masses would vote on eligibility and performance in the next general elections. There is no example the way Nawaz Sharif was disqualified by Supreme Court in the world. He took over the charge of the government and corrected all wrongdoings gradually. The situation of law and order has become far better now. There had been the absence of political will to improve poor law and order in Karachi.
In Pervaiz Musharaff’s regime, people had been given the licence of extermination. Addressing Meet the Editors Programme of Council of Pakistan Newspapers Editors (CPNE) he said you were well aware of the issue regarding Nawaz Sharif and the case till his disqualification. “We are not satisfied with SCP’s decision” not revealing son’s salary as the cause is terrible accounting. It can be assumed that there was some other motive behind it.
A professional accountant never advises his client for revealing that salary which had not been received. On this issue the maximum which could have been done was to raise objection. How disclosure could be made in account statements when money has not been deposited from 2007 to 2013.
The punishment given on the count could not be imagined. Prior to this the method of stopping course was martial law and later 58-2-B was being used, such a step is now been taken as alternative. Governor said our first priority was to hold free and fair general elections and accepting the elections’ results remains an important aspect, he added. Replying a query on economic situation, he replied that exports of India and other regional countries have become less during the last five years in comparison to Pakistan.
It is of concern that declining in exports and current account deficit remained a threat for economy but micro economic indicators were depicting better situation.
