Islamabad—With Eid ul Fitr just two or three days away, according to moon sighting, shopping spree has reached its climax with over crowded markets where people seemed busy to complete preparations for the forth coming festival. The scorching heat for last three to four days has confined people to their homes but the current rain spell started on Friday followed by pleasant cloudy weather since Saturday morning broke the barrier for families who flocked the markets to finish their remaining shopping.
“My children always endeavour to have a unique and elegant look from their peers, they never satisfied till their stuff till Chand Raat and keep on demanding different things”, said Aisha Tahir who was shopping with her family at Super Market. She said the extreme weather has left no option for them restrict from going out but today children pressed hard seeming cloudy weather and it was imperative to complete their remaining shopping so they came today.
“I have to buy grocery for cooking variety of dishes according to the taste of my family member and for the guest and today is the last option to do all these works to spare last Friday of the Holy month for keeping busy in prayers and other house hold works like cleaning washing, etc.”, she further said. Haya Fatima, a teen age girl busy in Eid shopping shared, “I am looking for some unique style jewelry which as stylish as well as elegant but I have not found according to my taste yet”. She said my friends and cousins will come to my home and they also have get together at their college so everyone try to wear fantastic and out class stuff. Asma Ghafoor, a house wife while shopping curtains said, “I am not interested in clothes and shoes, for me my house is of supreme importance so I have to have to buy new curtains, bed covers, cousins, decoration pieces and impress my guest”. She said Eid is the time of get together and her husband is using delaying tactics for last two weeks, so she finally convinced him to come with her for searching some fine items for their home. Huge rush was witnessed at markets since morning where women mostly seemed busy in purchasing jewelry, cosmetics, hand bags shoes, house hold items while young boys and men over crowded shoes and ready made garments shops.
