Residents of Tank and its suburban areas are faced with acute water shortage owing to power outage and official lethargy in resolving the brewing issue, a survey revealed. Residents of Qutab Colony, Razaq colony, Barki Abad, Wazeer Abad and dwellers of Union council Garah Baloch are facing tough time due to scarcity of drinking water.
Moinuddin Gandapur a dweller of village Garah Baloch deplored that people were forced to fetch drinking water from rain-swelled water ponds which causing water-bond diseases. Another Muhammad Bakhsh of Qutab colony said the tall claims of local administration could not be materialized even in the present modern age while the facility of polarized tube-wells are available to resolve the long-standing water paucity issue.
It is mentioning that local administration and district government is utilizing huge sum on the provision of basic amenities to the people of Tank. But to the disappointment of powerless people, still the entire district is in the grip of shortage of clean drinking water.
