Lahore—The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has directed its school partners to encourage and promote co curricular activities so that the students could emerge as self-confident & innovative youth for nation’s development. The sports will also infuse the passion of sportsman spirit in them.
MD PEF Tariq Mahmood said this while presiding over weekly coordination meeting at his office on Thursday. The meeting reviewed the pace of expansion in public private partnership based programs of providing free education to the children of needy communities. He observed that enabling environment in partner schools will help in developing healthy personality of students who mostly belongs to the low-income strata.
He said that provision of quality education is priority agenda of the foundation; and in this regard, a sustained teachers’ training program has been devised to improve their schooling-capacity. This training is aimed to sensitise the teaching community about latest concepts in school education, he said.
The meeting was told that policy decision has already been taken to delink educational partnership with the government employees, and they have already been offered to transfer their partnership to close relatives who are not in government service. The meeting agreed that partnerships will be revoked after May 31, 2016 with the partners failing to benefit from this offer. The meeting noted that annually held quality assurance test is a good mechanism of maintaining academic standards of the partner schools.
