Karachi—Major General Bilal Akbar, Director General of Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), Thursday visited the polling station in PS-115 during by-election to witness security arrangements.
Maj Gen Bilal Akbar Thursday termed law and order of Karachi as satisfactory and credited the current ‘peaceful’ situation in the metropolis to a sustained effort of past two years.
Speaking to media persons here, Maj Gen Bilal Akbar said Sindh Rangers enjoys support of the Federal and provincial governments, adding, the efforts of paramilitary force to make Sindh peaceful will continue without any interruption.
Lauding ‘all out support’ of the people of Karachi, he thanked and urged them to continue the same. “We will move in coordination with all the institution for establishing peace,” he added.
Meanwhile, Commandos of Special Security Unit (SSU) of Sindh Police performed duties in the sensitive areas to ensure smooth and peaceful polling during by-elections in NA-245 and PS-115 in Karachi.
The commandos of Special Weapons and Tactics Team equipped with modern communication system were also ready at its headquarters as a quick response force to timely challenge any untoward incident, said a statement on Thursday.
It is worth mentioning here that under the directives of AIGP Security Maqsood Ahmed, the commandos including lady commandos of SSU conducted flag march on April 6, in the city to show solidarity and develop confidence in general public.
