PCG arrests 54 accused, seizes drugs

The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) during last 15 days arrested 10 accused and 44 persons for attempting to cross border as well seized 15000 liters smuggled diesel, 6kg hashish, 4.5kg opium and 100 grams heroin in different actions.
A spokesman for the PCG Friday said that during the routine checking at Naka Khari Checkpost (Balochistan) the PCG officials recovered 6kg hashish and 4.5kg opium. Two accused were also arrested.
The PCG officials during checking on the Super Highway Karachi recovered betel nuts from two trucks and arrested four accused.
They also arrested an accused from Peshkan area near Gwadar after recovery of 100 grams (crystal) heroin from his possession. 15000 liters of smuggled diesel was seized from a Hino Truck on Sakran road.
In another action on Pakistan-Iran border, the PCG officials arrested 44 Pakistani nationals while attempting to cross the borders without valid visa documents.Cases are registered against them and further investigations were underway.
