PBC condemns attack on Mardan District Courts

Islamabad—The Pakistan Bar Council (PBC ) on Saturday strongly condemn the attack on the Mardan District Courts and demanded immediate payment of compensation for the martyred and proper treatment of the injured.
The PBC termed attack an attempt to subjudicate the judiciary by adopting acts of terrorism.
A meeting of the Pakistan Bar Council was held here wherein at the request of Abdul Sattar Khan from KPK, 11 Members under the leadership of its Vice-Chairman i.e. Barrister Dr. Farogh Naseem requested the Bar Council to suspend its regular agenda in view of the terrorist attack on Lawyers at Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 02-09-2016, which has caused the death of four Lawyers, leaving 17 seriously injured.
The 11 Members reminded the Pakistan Bar Council that the House should not discriminate the Mardan incident viz-a-viz the Quetta incident since in the aftermath of the Quetta killing on August 08, the Pakistan Bar Council in its subsequent meeting on August 13 had suspended its normal agenda and unanimously only considered a special agenda with regard to the Quetta killing.
The move as aforesaid was not allowed to be carried by twelve Members of the Pakistan Bar Council including three Members from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa except Abdul Sattar Khan. As a mark of protest and expressing solidarity with the Lawyers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Vice-Chairman and 10 other Members of the Pakistan Bar Council boycotted the House.
