Pathankot attack — hard facts emerge

Sultan M Hali

Pakistan is a peace loving country and committed to promoting peace in the region. To enhance its commitment to peace, bilateralism and non interference have been the key components of Pakistan’s foreign policy initiatives. Unfortunately, India has never accepted the reality of partition of the sub continent. Hardcore and fanatic Hindus consider the partition as desecration of Mother India and have vowed to reoccupy Pakistan and integrate it into greater India. Ever since gaining independence, India has been plotting and hatching conspiracies to achieve its heinous aims. Following the failure of its armed forces to subdue Pakistan in the 1965 Pak-India War, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) was created to further its machinations.  RN Kao, a Director in the Intelligence Bureau (IB) of India was tasked to create a blue print for the dismemberment of Pakistan.
The blueprint known as the “Kao Plan”, had two major aspects: to create insurgency in East Pakistan, abet it to separate from Pakistan and also incite the Balochis to rebel and declare independence. Indira Gandhi who was elected as Prime Minister in 1968, was thrilled with the “Kao Plan” and appointed RN Kao as RAW’s first Director General and gave the go ahead for phase one. The Bangladesh operation, beginning with sowing seeds of dissension, leading to the Agartala Conspiracy, creation of Mukti Bahini and under its cover sneaking into East Pakistan for guerrilla operations to blow up bridges and other installations, damaged the morale of Pakistani troops and India won the war even before the battle began, thanks to RAW as its agents had infiltrated every nook and corner of erstwhile East Pakistan.
In 1973, RAW was tasked to create unrest in Balochistan, in execution of Phase two of the Kao Plan. RAW became active and chaos, mayhem, terror attacks and demands for independence were raised by some misled Balochis. Fortunately, the Shah of Iran, who was a close friend of Pakistan and was wary of the Baloch insurgency having a spillover effect into Iranian Balochistan, sternly warned India to desist from furthering its odious plot in Balochistan. His admonition carried weight since India had requested Iran for a multi billion dollars loan package. The Iranian warning worked and RAW was recalled.
In the near past, RAW has been reactivated as the arrest of Commander Kulbhoshan Yadav, the RAW Terrorist, amply demonstrates. Pakistan had been crying hoarse over RAW’s involvement but the arrest of the high ranking RAW terrorist provides sufficient evidence of RAW’s involvement in supporting terrorist activities in Balochistan and exploiting sub nationalists in Balochistan and Sindh. RAW’s links with sectarian extremists groups including TTP to create unrest in FATA and mainland Pakistan, in pursuit of the offensive-defensive doctrine of Indian National Security Advisor Ajeet Doval clearly depict Indian plots to destabilize Pakistan.
Pakistan condemns terrorism of all sorts and is committed to stand by its international commitments. In pursuit of its policy, Pakistan, in wake of the Pathankot airbase attack, not only entertained the likelihood of Indian pointers towards non-state operators from Pakistan and detained suspects as well as filed an FIR against the protagonists. Pakistan even constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and dispatched it to India for investigations.
Prima facie India welcomed Pakistan’s gestures but gave a cold shoulder to the JIT during its visit to India. The JIT had asked for handing over swab of four alleged terrorists Nasir Hussain (Punjab), Abu Bakar (Gujranwala) and Umar Farooq and Abdul Qayum (both from Sindh). However, the JIT was only provided the DNA reports but not the swabs. The JIT discovered that the lights along 24 kms perimeter wall of Pathankot airbase were found to be faulty on the eve of the attack. However, the report claimed that the Pakistani JIT team was only informed about the negligence of Border Security Force (BSF) and Indian forces. JIT was permitted to enter Pathankot airbase from a side entrance and was given a measly fifty five minutes sightseeing tour of the base, carefully avoiding the scene of the alleged attack.
To add insult to injury, NIA Muslim Officer Tanzil Ahmed, the Indian Muslim inspector, who was investigating the Pathankot attack, was brutally murdered. This appears to be replay of the case of Indian Anti-Terrorism Squad officer Hemant Karkare, who was killed by Hindu extremists in the garb of the Mumbai Attacks, after he had exposed their involvement (saffron terror) in the wave of terrorist incidents of 2008 Malegaon in India. Tanzil Ahmad had also reached the conclusion that the Pathankot attack was self orchestrated.
Pakistan’s JIT has concluded that the Pathankot attack was a false flag operation to implicate Pakistan. India’s various mischievous attempts to hyphenate Pakistan with terrorism are evident. Indian media creates frenzy and hurls a volley of allegations against Pakistan which is a true reflection of Indian establishment and Hindu mindset which are intolerant to any improvement in the bilateral relations between both neighboring countries.
Indian establishment vis-à-vis Doval have become habitual of organizing false flag operations. They create fake alerts, security hype and attract attention of international community etc.  Pathankot incident is another attempt of Doval’s mischievous scheming against Pakistan after the fiasco of terror boat incident last year. Ajeet Doval, India’s National Security Advisor, is in fact its National Terrorism Advisor, since besides planning various terror attacks in Pakistan as part of Indian offensive-defensive doctrine, Doval has been organizing various subversive acts inside India to shift the blame game to Pakistan like the orchestrated drama of Gurdaspur episode, the terror boat incident and numerous others.
The main aims of all these dramas have been to defame Pakistan and its security agencies. False flag operations conducted by Indian government are evident from an investigative report compiled by Indian media in 2014, which concluded that former Home Ministry officer R.V.S Mani had submitted signed affidavits in court citing member of CBI-SIT team accused incumbent governments of orchestrating the terror attack on Indian Parliament and the 26/11 carnage in Mumbai. Indian response to Pakistan’s quest for peace and the findings of the JIT for Pathankot have once again exposed India’s detestable conspiracies against Pakistan.
