Participants of NMDC get inspiration from Gali-e-Dastoor

Islamabad—As many as 27 participants of 3rd National Management Development Course (NMDC) for Parliamentary Functionaries visited the Parliament House were briefed about the role, functions and powers of the Upper House of the Parliament. They were also taken to the recently launched Gali-e-Dastoor, a pictorial depiction of Pakistan’s struggle for democracy.
The visit was organized as part of the vision of the Chairman of the Upper House to develop strong linkages between the Senate and its electoral colleges i.e. the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies where participants of the development course (being held at PIPS) from Senate, National Assembly, four provincial assemblies, and legislative bodies of AJ&K and Gilgil Baltistan visited Senate.
The participants were given a detailed briefing about the House of Federation explaining the significance of equal representation of all federating units. The briefing also included details of the function of different departments of Senate Secretariat and the recent initiatives undertaken under the Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani including public petitions, committee of the whole, Senate’s membership into PAC, internship programmes and parliamentary education programme.
