Parliamentary secretary reviews anti-dengue arrangements

Rawalpindi—Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Chaudary Sarfraz Afzal on Friday reviewed the arrangements made for preventing spread of dengue larva breeding in Potohar town.
Presiding over a meeting here, he directed concerned departments for close liaison with each other and public representatives to wipe out threat of dengue breakout.
He said people’s representatives, NGOs and district government teams should play an effective role in dengue eradication campaign.
He stressed the need to initiate awareness programmes among the masses for adopting precautionary measures to protect themselves from the lethal mosquito.
He warned that stern action would be taken against the staff deployed in the campaign, if they showed any negligence in performing their duties.
He directed the RSWMC officials to ensure cleanliness at public places and asked WASA officials to repair water leakages as these places could prove suitable sites for brought-up of the dengue larvae.
The meeting was also attended by Town Municipal Officer (TMO) Sardar Tashfeen and senior officials of different departments.—APP
