Parents, teachers urged to play role in polio eradication

Larkana—Deputy Commissioner Larkana Javed Ali Jagirani has urged upon parents, teachers, religious scholars and concerned health officials to play their respective role for eradication of fatal Polio diseases in Larkana district, he said this while chairing the Polio Eradication Committee meeting here at his office.
He said that there is no security issue in Larkana for Polio team; all required facilities will be provided to Polio workers for ensuring the vaccination at all areas of Larkana t, district administration is also closely monitoring the activities.
The meeting reviewed arrangements about new round of anti Polio campaign to be started from 14th March 2016 to 17 March 2016 in Larkana district, DC warned the concerned M Os of Union Councils and said that any slackness will be not tolerated, if any did not achieve his target, would be suspended, adding that every individual will have to play his role to get rid of Polio disease.
On the occasion DHO Larkana briefed Deputy Commissioner Larkana about the arrangements and apprised that t more than 0.3 million children aged below five years would be administered anti Polio drops, in this connection 755 teams have been formed while 42 health centres, 49 transit points will also facilitate the services under the supervision of WHO, UNICEF and DHO administration.
He urged upon the parents of children and representatives of civil society and citizens to play their respective role to ensure the vaccination of every child in their areas he said.
