Panama Papers, CPEC issues cropped up

Islamabad—While the parliamentary leaders at their meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Monday gave the lucid message of unity and solidarity in the face of Indian belligerence both at the LOC and the diplomatic front, some other matters particularly that of Panama papers that includes the names of the family members of the PM and other leaders and businessmen, also cropped up.
In his remarks, Chairman of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who led PPP delegation in the meeting mentioned that Panama Papers is the biggest scandal of the world and matters pertaining to its investigation should be resolved in order to achieve greater national consensus.
The PPP Chairman also touched upon multi billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project saying his father Asif Ali Zardari deserves credit for this project. He said the government should remove all reservations regarding the project.
Aitzaz Ahsan, Leader of Opposition in the Senate, said that the opposition parties have submitted bill in the upper house for investigation into Panama Papers. He said that a ground should be paved for the approval of this bill.
It is worth mentioning here that the government has also submitted a bill in the National Assembly titled Pakistan Commission of Inquiry 2016 for investigation into corruption related cases.
The political leaders also asked the government to pursue aggressive foreign policy and expose the subversive activities of India inside Pakistan. They said that India is involved in subversive activities in Balochistan and the statement of Kulbushan Yadav is a clear proof of it. They said the prime minister in his address to the UNGA should have exposed India’s evil face and its sordid activities inside Pakistan.
