Chairperson Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Nuzhat Sadiq has said that Pakistan places historical relationship with Iran at high esteem and desires to further expand friendly ties for mutual benefit of the people of two sides.
She expressed these views during a meeting with Special Envoy and Chairman of National Security and Foreign Commission of Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Allauddin Boroujerdi at the Parliament House.
She underscored the need for close collaboration between the two countries through frequent exchange of visits. Senator Farhatulaah Babar was also present during the meeting. Senator Farhatullah also emphasized the need for increasing bilateral interactions at parliamentary and other levels.
Senator Nuzhat Sadiq observed that Muslim Ummah is faced with common challenges and there is a need for unity to overcome challenges.
Chairman of National Security and Foreign Commission of Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Allauddin Boroujerdi agreed with the views of Senator Nuzhat Sadiq and said that Iran also accords high importance to its bilateral relation with Pakistan.
Both sides also exchanged views on regional situation. Iranian side invited Senator Nuzhat Sadiq for participation in the upcoming International conference on Palestine to be held in Iran next month.
