A Jamaat-e-Islami delegation, headed by JI Secretary General, Liaqat Baloch, called on the Grand Mufti of Turkey, and Religious Affairs’ Chief Dr. Mehmet Gormez here and expressed deep grief over the terrorism and bomb blasts in Turkey causing heavy loss of lives.
The delegation included JI Deputy Secretary General Muhammad Asghar, JI Foreign Affairs chief Abdul Ghaffar Aziz, and Ahmed Salaman Baloch. The Turkish envoy in the country and officials of the Religious Affairs in Islamabad, were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Liaqat Baloch said that Pakistan fully shared the sufferings and the anguish of the Turkish people as she herself had been target of the colonial powers conspiracies.
He said that Turkey and Pakistan could play important and effective role in uniting the Muslim world. He suggested that the media specially social media in the two countries should be reorganized to pave way for the Muslim unity.
The JI Secretary General paid tributes to the Turkish people for demonstrating full faith in their President Erdogan and foiling the coup against him. He said that thousands of mosques in Turkey had proved as strongholds for the government.
