Islamabad—Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority observes Earth Hour at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad (BBIAP), where officers and staff gathered at the airport and participated wholeheartedly in the ceremony. Earth Hour was first initiated by the WWF in 2007, which has now become the world’s largest environmental awareness initiative and attracts participation from all over the world.
Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and the airport management held a symbolic walk holding candles in their hands and banners with key messagesregarding the importance of saving energy while observing Earth Hour.
As part of this event, Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad showed solidarity against the climate change by switching off all non-operational lights at the airport for one hour. On this occasion, DG CAA showed solidarity to this cause by reinforcing Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority’s commitment to encourage an interconnected global community, to share the opportunities and challenges of creating a sustainable world.
