Karachi—Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has said that Pakhtoon localities of Karachi will also be provided all basic amenities of life as in other parts of the city.
This he said while talking to a six-member delegation of Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PMAP) led by Nazeer Jan at Governor House, says a statement on Thursday.
Governor Sindh said that facilities of health, education, communications, water and electricity were the right of each and every citizen without any sort of discrimination and as such Government was attaching top priority to provision of the same.
On complaints of water shortage in Pakhtun areas, Governor Sindh said that new motors and pumps would be installed at pumping stations in these areas so as to improve the same to facilitate the inhabitants.
He said that shortage of available potable water was the problem of whole city and keeping in view the same K-IV, a project for supply of additional 260 MGD water had been started, After its completion in 2017 shortage of water would be met, he added.
Dr. Ebad said that Karachi was truly mini Pakistan as people from every corner of the country come to the city to get some kind of employment or business opportunity and this was the very reason that it is called economic hub of the country which contributes around 70% to the national exchequer. He said that Pakhtuns were very hard working community and they have contributed a lot to the progress and development of Karachi.
The complaints of Pakhtuns against police, NADRA and other institutions or departments would be addressed, he added.
On complaints of non-payment of compensation to transporters for their vehicles, set ablaze during riots, Governor Sindh assured that all genuine grievances in this regard would be resolved.
The delegation members thanked Governor Sindh for listening to their problems patiently and assuring for solution to the same.
They also lauded personal interest of Governor Sindh for construction of bridge at Banaras. They further said that Governor Sindh was the most popular personality of the province who never delay in taking an action for the redressal of problems of the masses.
