Islamabad—To build-up on the positive telephonic discussion between US President-elect and the prime minister, Pakistan is sending a high-level delegation to meet Trumps’s transition team.
Prime Minister’s special assistant for foreign affairs, Tariq Fatemi will visit the US to meet officials of the Trump transition team, the sources said.
“Besides meeting members of the transition team, Fatemi will meet officials of the outgoing Obama administration,” they said.
US President-elect Donald Trump is setting up a provisional team, encouraging foreign leaders and officials to visit his headquarters in New York for familiarisation meetings.
The development came days after a productive telephonic talks between Donald Trump and Nawaz Sharif, which also created a stir in the global media because of high-praise of Pakistan PM by the President-elect.
PM Nawaz called Trump couple of days ago to congratulate him as the two leaders discussed various issues.
