Pak, KSA renew pledges of solidarity

IN fact such strong are the bonds between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia that no words are sufficient to describe them. The relations are so deep rooted in common faith and culture that no power on the earth can undo them. Not only at the government level but the peoples of two countries have immense love for each other, and this is the reason that we have always seen the two countries standing by each other in every hour of trial.
The same pledges of solidarity were renewed during the highly significant visit of Saudi Defence Minister Mohammad Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz to Islamabad. The Saudi Defence Minister held extensive talks with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on a variety of issues including security and the threat posed by terrorism to the Muslim Ummah. During talks, the Saudi Defence Minister once again reaffirmed his country’s strong support for Pakistan. This assurance is very much timely as it has been given at a time when rumours were circulating that Pakistan stands isolated because of some regional alignment amongst Afghanistan, India and Iran. It also allays the fears of those who were considering that the Saudi Arabia is now tilting towards India. It is a fact that being the custodians of two holy mosques, the people of Pakistan hold the Saudi leaders at high esteem and they have never forgotten the assistance the fraternal country came up with after the western sanctions in the wake of 1998 nuclear tests. This is the reason that the Pakistan people have also been at the forefront to express their solidarity with the KSA whenever it is faced with any challenge. We are confident that this relationship based on unwavering trust will help address the challenges faced by Muslim Ummah today, and would continue to grow further in the times to come.
