Peshawar—The Pakistani security forces Friday effectively repulsed an ambush on their border check post in Bajaur agency from the neighbouring country and made the assaulters flee to Afghanistan.
Rockets were also fired from the Kunar province of Afghanistan though the attack remained abortive.
Once again resorting to naked aggression as the reports reaching here say, scores of armed miscreants, whose identity could not be ascertained, from Kunar province of troubled Afghanistan launched attack on a security post in the border area in Bajaur Agency on Friday morning.
However, the valiant soldiers deployed at the post effectively retaliated the attack and made the trouble makers flee without inflicting any loss on Pakistani troops.
“Scores of unknown
attackers launched assault on Pakistani border security post in Bajaur agency in the morning from the Kunar province of Afghanistan.
The security forces effectively repulsed the attack and the militants escaped after security forces firing”. Sources in the security forces said adding no losses were reported as a result of ambush.
Rockets were also fire from the Kunar province direction that landed in Nawagai area of the Bajaur agency yet the attack caused no harm to the residents of the area. However, the local tribesmen of Mamoond tribe of the Bajaur agency have strongly protested against the cross border firing by Afghan security forces and militants which they said has become a routine affair.
The naked aggression across the border, it may be recalled, continued unabated in our tribal belt since long. While the militants from the neighbouring Afghanistan have been crossing into Pakistani territory for the last many years and lunching assaults both on the security forces as well as the local people mostly in Bajaur and Mohmand agencies and Dir district, the Afghan National Army also spare no opportunity to launch assaults on the Pakistani security forces striving to restore the state writ in the region
In the process a large number of men in uniform and the innocent locals including female and children have been killed by the intruders though in retaliatory fire the Pakistani security forces also mowed down scores of miscreants from the other side of the border.
The military authorities as well as the Pakistani government have been lodging strong protest with the previous Afghan government over this naked aggression asking those at the helm of affairs to check the ambushes launched by the miscreants from their safe heavens inside Afghanistan, but the US influenced Afghan government never paid heed to this serious and continued violation of the territorial integrity of the neighbouring Pakistan.
The Afghan government instead of adopting the corrective measures always only resorted to blame game and attempted to hold Pakistan responsible for the unrest in the region.
