Over 0.2m people welcome Azadi Train

Mehrabpur—More than two lakh people welcomed Azadi Train here at Mehrabpur, Sindh. Large number of people were waiting for Azadi Train at Mehrabpur Railway Junction. Officer Incharge Azadi Train Muhammad Ali Chachar said that the people response to Azadi Train is watch-able.
He said that Azadi Train is basically portraying the culture and history of all over the country. He said people to see history and its culture through Azadi train. Senior official Mehrabpur Railway Junction said that people are here for Azadi Train, adding that Pakistan Railways done great job to initiate Azadi Train.

Azadi Train, launched on August 11 from Islamabad reached at Khairpur Railway Station on Thursday. A large number of people including students and citizens were present for reception at the Railway Station. People of the Khairpur and its adjoining areas, especially children, took keen interest in the historic and cultural models.
A woman, who had brought her children to see the display, lauded Pakistan Railways for operating such a train and told media that the project is a good way of educating children about the rich and diverse culture of Pakistan. “Today our country is subjected to different challenges, including terrorism, and at this juncture this Azadi Train is good to boost our morale,” she said. Most people took many pictures with the models in order to preserve the moment.
On the occasion, Al Jamhoori Scouts distributed fruits, juices and other eatable among students and children at Railway Station. Strict security measures were adopted at the railway station to avoid any untoward incidents and the police checked people before allowing them to board the train. Newly elected Chairman of district council Khairpur, Shehryar Wassan also paid a visit to the train.—APP
