Our justice system

Sana Ishaque

“The present administration of the justice system suffers from many infirmities and in the presence of those it is not easy to do justice,” remarked Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Mohammad Noor Meskanzai at the certificate-awarding ceremony in the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad, last Saturday.
He is absolutely right, but our ruling elite and lawmakers have failed to comprehend such striking and painful realities. Had our past and present rulers understood the problem, they would have reformed the legal and judicial sector much earlier. We now need a strong justice system for state-building and overall socio-economic development.
