OPF Chairman orders provision of facilities to Kashmiri expatriates

Islamabad—The Chairman OPF Board of Governors Barrister Amjad Malik on Wednesday directed officials of his department to provide all facilities to Kashmiri expatriates and gear up colonization process at OPF Housing Scheme Chitarpari Mirpur.
He was on a visit to OPF Regional Office Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). The chairman also addressed the open house “khuli kahchahri” at the Regional Office and issued directions on the spot for resolution of problems being faced by visiting expatriates.
The Chairman was accompanied by Chairman OPF Housing Committee, Muhammad Jahangir Minhas, Director General (Housing), Sajid Mehmood Qazi and other high officials of OPF.
Barrister Malik said that OPF considers to initiate a pilot project of 50 houses at Mirpur Housing Scheme to be distributed among families of deceased Kashmiri expatriates.
The Chairman expressed his dissatisfaction over nominal record of complaints and directed the Regional Head to introduce state of the art facilities at OPF Regional Office and provide all basic necessities including electricity, water, car parking and waiting area at the Regional Office for visiting expatriates.
The Chairman also visited OPF Eye Hospital, Mirpur and vowed to make the hospital more productive and service-oriented for Kashmiri expatriates and their families.
He appreciated the regular presence of doctor in the hospital and directed the Regional Head to provide all facilities and equipment to the hospital.
In the open house, the Chairman received complaints from visiting expatriates and their dependents and issued necessary orders on the spot.
He informed that OPF has increased concession in tuition fee from 25 percent to 50 percent for children of expatriates studying in its various educational institutions.
“Over 2500 children of expatriates will be benefitted from this concession”, he added. The Chairman also briefed the audience about his recent meeting with President Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Masood Khan and the idea of having a role model Commission for Kashmiri origin expatriates.
The audience appreciated the novel initiative of having Commission for expatriates. The Chairman sought suggestions for early colonization of OPF Housing Scheme.
He assured the visitors that their complaints will be resolved within shortest possible time. Earlier, the Regional Head briefed the Chairman about working of OPF Regional Office AJK held at OPF Housing Scheme Chitarpari, Mirpur (AJK).—APP
