One year target set for supplying potable water to rural areas

Bahawalpur—A mega project of worth Rs 350 billion would be completed in April 2018 in three phases for provision of clean drinking water to houses located in rural areas of Punjab. Chairman Saaf Pani Company Punjab Kashif Padhiar while addressing a meeting here at Commissioner Officer told that Saaf Pani Project is a landmark achievement of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif under which potable water would be provided to rural areas of the province. He told that water plants will be provided electricity through solar energy for six hours out of total eight hours. The plants installed under the schemes will have life span of 30 years while the installing company will be responsible for maintenance of plants for first 5 years, he added.—APP
