Senior APHC leader Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi led Zuhr prayers during anti-India protests outside DC office in Badgam.
The men in uniform barged into houses in many areas of South Kashmir, ransacked households and beat inmates including women and elderly. Indian Police raided the head office of Jamaat-e-Islami in Srinagar and arrested its spokesman, advocate Zahid Ali.
Meanwhile, the personnel of Indian police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force attacked the house of a senior photojournalist, Danish Ismail, in Batamaloo area of Srinagar, harassed the inmates and damaged the house. The attack was carried out to prevent the journalist from coverage of Indian brutalities in the territory. Another journalist, Aijaz Ahmad Dar was injured while covering protests in Wathoo village of Shopian district.
In yet another development, a Kashmiri journalist, Naseer Ahmed, working for an Indian news channel, IBN7 TV, resigned from the channel, saying that the channel was forcing him to prepare fabricated anti-Kashmir reports. Condemning on-the-spot savage killing of yet another youth, Danish Manzoor at the hands of trigger-happy Indian forces at Nadihal, Rafiabad, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) spokesman Wednesday said for achieving the right to self determination the sacrifices rendered by people especially our youth bleeds our hearts but strengthens our resolve.
The aggression on people demonstrating peacefully across the valley in Rafiabad, Sopore, Nadihal, Pattan, Ajas, Sadnara Bandipora, Dooru, Islamabad and different areas of Srinagar including Batamaloo, Firdousabad and Shehar-e-Khas and use of tear smoke shells, pepper guns and pellet guns on the people including women, is highly deplorable APHC spokesman said . Such tactics would not force people into submission and giving up on their rights as they are committed to achieving their goal. Expressing shock and anguish over the killing of one more youth at the hands of government forces, senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan condemned the barbarism and Changezyat of police and other Indian forces.
He said that martyrdoms of youths like Danish Manzoor have made the freedom struggle so costly that there cannot be any compensation to the innocent killings except complete freedom from India.—KMS
