Ombudsman presents reports on prisons, police to CJP

Islamabad—A delegation of Federal Ombudsman’s Secretariat headed by Wafaqi Mohtasib M. Salman Faruqui called on Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Anwar Zaheer Jamali here Tuesday and presented reports on prison, police stations and pension issues complied by the Federal Ombudsman under the directives of Supreme Court in different cases.
Salman Faruqui briefed the CJP about the reports finalized after considerable deliberations. These reports identify maladministration and systemic failures and also suggest ways and means to bring improvements for the effective and smooth functioning of the institutions so that the grievances of public at large could be redressed expeditiously.—APP
