OIC, Italy sign declaration for cooperation

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen and H.E. Mr. VenosnosAmendola, Deputy Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, has signed a ‘Declaration of Intent’ for cooperation on the sidelines of the MED conference on Friday December 1, 2017 in Rome.
The cooperation between OIC and Italy will focus inter alia on youth and interfaith dialogue in particular. Both parties exchanged views on various regional and international issues of common interest. The meeting discussed developments in Palestine and the armed conflicts in the region, in addition to the conditions of Muslim communities in Europe and the issue of combating terrorism and extremism.
On another front, the two parties reviewed together the scopes of bilateral cooperation between Italy and the OIC and ways to advance them at all levels.—PR
