OIC IPHRC to locate at Jeddah


The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia H.E. Mr Adel Al-Jobber and the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) H.E. Dr Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen on 15 May 2017 inaugurated the headquarters of the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission Headquarters (IPHRC) in Jeddah.
The Saudi foreign minister delivered a speech in which he stressed that the Kingdom was honoured to host the OIC General Secretariat, the IPHRC headquarters and other OIC affiliated institutions, which demonstrate the commitment of the Kingdom and its wise leadership to everything that can promote and advance joint Islamic action. Al-Jubeiradded that Islam had guaranteed for humans the protection and preservation of the five necessities against violation and manipulation. This is to enable humans to live in security and tranquillity and to contribute effectively to building and protecting his society against anything that can endanger it, which is why we are all required to work together to enable the IPHRC carry out its responsibilities.—Email
