OIC condemns suicide attack in Baghdad


The Islamic Cooperation Organization strongly condemned the suicide attack in Nahrawan area, southern Baghdad, which caused the death and injury of a number of innocent victims.
The Secretary General, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims wishing quick recovery to the wounded.
Dr. Al-Othaimeen asserted that these terrorist acts targeting innocent citizens are contrary to the teachings of the tolerant Islamic religion, all divine laws and human and moral principles.
In addition, he urged both the Iraqi government and people in all their political factions and forces to address terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, which aims to provoke strife among its communities, stressing the commitment of the OIC to keep coordinating with the Iraqi government to hold a national reconciliation conference in Baghdad (Makkah2) as part of the ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in Iraq.—PR
