OIC: COMCEC holds 33th session

The Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) will hold its thirty-third session in Istanbul, on 20-23 November 2017, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Turkey, President of COMCEC, the OIC Secretary General, and the relevant ministers of the OIC Member States.
The OIC Secretary General, H.E. Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, will deliver a speech at the opening ceremony, highlighting the latest actions taken by the OIC General Secretariat and institutions working in the field of enhancing economic cooperation among Member States since the 32nd Session of the COMCEC General Assembly held in Turkey in November 2016.
The COMCEC 33rd Session focuses on the development of trans-border transport corridors among the OIC Member States. This sector is one of the main priorities of the OIC economic cooperation agenda, as transport is one of the main catalysts of economic development and competitiveness for countries.—Agencies
