NUML to establish Iqbal forum

Islamabad—Rector National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Maj Gen (Retd) Zia Ud Din Najam, Monday said the university has decided to establish Iqbal forum to transfer Allama Iqbal’s thoughts to the next generation. He said this while addressing a seminar on “Contemporary Perspectives of Iqbal’s Thoughts” jointly organized by the Urdu and Persian departments of NUML, said a press release. Rector NUML said that it is time to educate our new generation about Allama Iqbal and provide them opportunities to study Iqbal.
Renowned poet, writer and Professor Iftikhar Arif, Director Allama Iqbal Institute of Research and Dialogue Islamic International University Dr Talib Hussain Sial, Head Department of Iqbaliat, Allama Iqbal Open University Dr Shahid Iqbal Kamran were the key note speakers, while Director General NUML Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, faculty members and a large numbers of students also attended the seminar.
In their addresses, key note speakers highlighted the vision of Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal and said that Iqbal’s thoughts are as important as were in 20th century. They said that Iqbal was not only worried about the Muslims of the sub-continent but also the whole world.Iqbal strived hard to awake Muslims and tried to recall their golden past through his poetry.
