NPC holds free medical camp

Rawalpindi—National Press Club (NPC) Monday held a free medical camp with collaboration of Pakistan National Heart Association (PNHA) here at its Rawalpindi camp office.
Journalists and their families visited the camp for check up. Doctors checked patients, carried out tests of different diseases and provided them free medicines.
PNHA President Major General Masood u Rehman, speaking on the occasion, said at the creation of Pakistan the ratio of deaths from diseases like sugar, blood pressure and heart ailments, diseases was very low. However, with passage of time the ratio of these diseases increased due to frequent use of oily and spicy foods while the intake of soft drinks added fuel to fire, he added.
He said,”We have given up taking simple food, which are disease free and full of energy. We can overcome the diseases by adopting simple living and eating.”
Dr Masood said the PNHA was a movement working for a healthy society and it had taken various steps for the purpose.—APP
