Notices issued to 20 Petrol pumps, CNG stations for lack of fire extinguishers


Civil Defence Department Rawalpindi on Monday issued 20 notices to Petrol Pumps and CNG stations operating without fire extinguishers.
District Officer, Civil Defence Department, Sanjeeda Khanum visited several public places including Petrol Pumps and CNG stations in different areas of the city and inspected security arrangements while notices were issued for lacking fire fighting equipments.
The District Officer informed, crackdown against the petrol pumps, CNG stations, factories, buildings and other places operating without modern fire extinguishers had been started.
She said, despite notices, certain factories, petrol pumps/CNG stations, Hotels and Marriage Halls lack fire-fighting arrangements. Action in accordance with the law was being taken against the rules violators, she added.
Commercial Plazas and buildings situated in Rawalpindi Division would also be challaned in this regard, he informed.
She said, the CNG Stations, Petrol Pumps, Hotels and Marriage Halls owners were warned of strict action if the instructions of the department are not followed.—APP
