Notice issued to Railways Minister on contempt plea

Lahore—A local court on Tuesday issued notice to Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, Secretary Railways and Inspector General of Police Railways for July 12 on a contempt application against them.
Civil Judge Nadeem Ahmad issued the notices on a contempt application filed by the Royal Palm Golf and Country Club owner Ramzan Sheikh and the club manager.
During the hearing, the petitioner’s counsel arguing before the court submitted that the court had restrained railway authorities from taking any action against the club in a pending matter but despite the clear orders, the authorities sealed the club.
He requested the court to take action against the respondents for violating court orders. The court, after hearing arguments, issued notices to the respondents for July 12 and sought reply.—APP
