Not worried about threat from India: Air Chief

Karachi—Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman on Thursday warned India to stay patient, and said that the country’s armed forces were vigilant to defend its borders and give a befitting reply to any aggression.
The Air Chief Marshal said Pakistan is not worried about any threat from India. “We are not worried about India at all,” he said while speaking at the ninth International Defence Exhibition and Seminar. “India should show restraint and instead solve the issue of Kashmir as that would be better for them,” he added. Aman further said that Pakistan does not want war but “We are well capable of responding in the face of any aggression.”
Sohail Aman went on to add that Pakistan had readied all of its (battle) plans following threats from India after the militant attack in Uri sector. The Air Chief also said that Pakistan, engaged in Operation Zarb-e-Azab has a battle hardened military to respond to threats.
“We are fully aware of the escalation in conflict arising from the Uri incident in Occupied Kashmir,” he said. “India should exercise restraint and focus on finding a solution to the Kashmir crisis,” he added.
He said that the armed forces of Pakistan were vigilant at all times and would respond to any act of aggression against the enemy with a befitting reply. Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman disclosed that Pakistan was preparing Super Mashshak jets for Nigeria and Qatar and has signed an agreement with Turkey to sell 52 Super Mashshak basic trainers during IDEAS 2016 expo.
Meanwhile, talking to media, Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah said that Pakistan navy won’t let India move an inch into Pakistani territory. He said that the Indian submarine issue was an extraordinary one and India wouldn’t dare doing such a thing again.
Naval chief said that the navy was aware of its responsibilities towards China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He told that the navy’s capacity had to be improved and the navy was working on it with the help of the government.
The Naval Chief said that he as navy chief and the entire nation are proud of the action of Navy. He said after the detection of their navy, the Indians would not dare for such an adventure in the future. He said they kept the Indian submarine under track for several days and then forced it to leave the area.
Admiral Zakaullah said IDEAS-2016 will give boost to country’s defence industry. He appreciated the standard of the defence exhibition and said foreign delegates are appreciating Pakistani products. This is encouraging for our defence related industries. He said the Navy participates as a service3 as Ministry of Defence Production puts on display the products.
He said he has seen stalls at the exhibition and was impressed by them.
He said he did imagine some time back that such sophisticated equipment would be made in Pakistan. He said their first priority is to meet the demands of our armed forces and then export the surplus to improve our economy.
The Naval Chief said Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works displays its products as well. He said he is head of the board of KSEW, which is building fast track craft and missile boats while a 17000 tons war ship has also been launched at the shipyard.
