Hostile elements to be rooted out
Quetta—No military in the world has been able to synergise effects as much as the Pakistan Army has single-handedly, said Army chief General Raheel Sharif here on Thursday.
Addressing the participants at Command and Staff College in Quetta, General Raheel said he is proud of commanding, dynamic and resolute force, Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt-Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa said.
During the address, chief of army staff emphasised on Pakistan’s resolve, as well as determination to confront the global phenomenon of terrorism and extremism.
Delving into details regarding the ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb, the army chief said it has now entered the combing stage. “He explained how we had transited from hard core kinetic operations to intelligence-based operations and now combing,” DG ISPR quoted the army chief as saying.
However, referring to the conclusion of operations, General Raheel said, there is still a lot of work left to do in order to reach the final objective.
The Army chiwf arrived in Quetta for a day-long visit where he visited Headquarters Southern Command for an operational and security review.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif Thursday reiterated that the hostile elements would be rooted out from the country.
“Together we will defeat any nefarious design of hurting Pakistan and root out hostile enemies from our country,” General Raheel said during his visit to Headquarters Southern Command in Quetta.
According to ISPR, the army chief was briefed on operational matters and security situation of the province. He appreciated the efforts of law enforcement agencies, especially intelligence agencies in unearthing foreign intelligence network.
