ISLAMABAD, : Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz has said that people in large numbers come around markets regularly in the federal capital and it is responsibility of Markets and Roads Maintenance Division to keep roads, passages and street in the markets useful and convenient for the citizens.
He expressed these views during a meeting held at CDA Headquarters to review progress of Markets and Roads Maintenance Division. Senior officers of the authority including Member Engineering, Asad Mehboob Kiyani attended the meeting.
Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz further said that resource allocation for constant repair and maintenance of roads in the Markets should not be a hindrance. Vigilance, diligence and prompt response to any road deterioration is key indicator for performance of Markets and Roads Maintenance Division.
The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing projects of Markets and Roads Maintenance (North) which was apprised that during the month of August projects were completed and in progress including rehabilitation and re-carpeting of various roads in sectors of F&G series, improvement of lane marking in sectors of F&G series.
The meeting also reviewed rehabilitation/improvement of signage and painting of curb stones of various sectors of F&G series, construction and rehabilitation of footpaths in sector F&G Series, rehabilitation/improvement of Drainage System in Sectors of F& G series, provision and laying lane marking and Cat Eyes in F&G series, rehabilitation / improvement of drainage system and Streets in sector F-10, extension of existing culvert on Nazim-ud-Din Road at F-6/1 near 7th avenue underpass.
Improvement of Markaz G-10, Improvement of drainage system and miscellaneous works in Admin Sector / Diplomatic Enclave, rehabilitation of service road (West) G-11, rehabilitation of damage / collapsed protection wall at nullah eastern side of Bari Imam, rehabilitation / improvement of existing drainage system and curb stone of Sector F-5 and F-6, Improvement of drainage system near M&K Block Pak Secretariat and Installation of RFID Equipment in Islamabad Safe city project (Road Infrastructure) was also reviewed during the meeting.
