Nisar’s proactive approach

INTERIOR Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan, who is widely believed to have excelled in many respects in managing affairs of his Ministry, dilated upon a number of issues during his press conference on Thursday. He rightly advised government critics not to do politics over the sensitive issues of national security and civil-military relations, announced to withdraw the condition of NOC for tourists visiting Gilgit-Baltistan, addressed concerns of some circles about blocking of CNICs and declared his intention to bring illegal human organ transplant and food adulteration to the FIA schedule.
The Minister deserves appreciation for devising policies and implementing them meaningfully to mitigate sufferings of the people and strengthen national security. Previously, his firm stand on the issues of registration of International NGOs, verification of SIMs and streamlining of issuance of national identity cards and passports brought about a positive change in these spheres and now things are somewhat smooth as far as issuance of passports and CNICs are concerned. Two other issues that were being agitated by people and had serious impact on the life of people were illegal transplant of human organs and food adulteration. Innocent people are losing their organs and greedy doctors and rings of smuggler are minting money at the cost of life of these people. Similarly, adulteration of foodstuff has become widespread and despite proactive approach of Punjab government and Capital Territory Administration, the situation is far from satisfactory. It is hoped that grant of powers to FIA to check illegal organ transplant and food adulteration would make a difference and the credit would surely go to the Interior Minister for coming to the rescue of common man.
