Nisar gives awards to official pointing out blacklisted American

Islamabad—Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan on Wednesday appreciated efficiency and performance of Fahad Qayyum, Incharge Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) who pointed out entry of a blacklisted American Mathew Barret, into country.
It may be mentioned that despite being blacklisted by Pakistani authorities in 2011, Mathew Barret not only succeeded in getting a visa for Pakistan from the country’s Houston consulate but was given clearance also by Customs officials and other staff at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA).
However, Mr Qayyum alerted the Federal Investigation Agency against entry of a blacklisted American into the country and got him arrested on the same date he arrive in the country ie Aug 6, 2016. The very next day, Interior Minister announced cash prize for Fahad Qayyum and on Wednesday he called him to his office and awarded a cash prize of Rs100,00 along with a certificate of appreciation.
The interior minister hoped he would continue to work with the same vigour setting an example for the rest.
It may be mentioned here that Interior Minister while taking strict notice of the matter had suspended FIA’s assistant director along with airport shift’s entire staff for letting the blacklisted US national into the country.
