National Highway Authority (NHA) would set up nine Emergency Response Centers (ERC) in Balochistan along national highways. An official of NHA told APP Tuesday that Executive Board of the NHA has recently approved the proposal for establishment of new emergency response centres. These centers would be established in Dhanasar, Mina Bazar, Kalat,Surab, Wad, Kararo, Nag, Wangu and Hoshab. He said that the meeting that NHA would establish these centers from its own resources.He said that these would be equipped with various facilities including doctors, paramedics and ambulances to provide timely aid and care to those injured in road accidents along the national highways.
The NHA official said that presently seven first aid centers are functional on National Highways and Motorways Network. He said that seven first aid centres already functional are located at Rashakai at Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway (M-1),Service area Chakri, Service area Sukheki, Service area Sial More, Service area Bhera, Service Area Kallar Kahar on Islamabad-Lahore Motorway (M-2) and Nooriabad at Hyderabad-Karachi Motorway.—APP
