New police check posts set up to enhance security

Rawalpindi—The Police have set up eight new check posts in the city aimed to enhancing security for upcoming month of Muharram ul Haram and to control crimes.
According to Police, on the special instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, new police pickets have been set up on Murree and Peshawar Roads. The check posts include Farooq Corporation and Nawaz Sharif Park pickets in the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station, a picket near Ariana Hotel in the limits of City police station, Asghar Mall Chowk and Chandni Chowk pickets in Bani police station area.
Rehmanabad picket in New Town police station area and a picket set up near overhead bridge on Peshawar Road in Naseerabad area while another picket has also been set up near Rafah Mall Peshawar Road in the jurisdiction of Westridge police. Policemen have been deployed to check movement of suspected persons and vehicles.
Special search operations are also being conducted to arrest proclaimed offenders and criminals.
