The Holy Family Hospital administration has chalked out a plan to lay a new drainage system.
Medical Superintendent (MS) Holy Family Hospital Raja Shafiq Sarwar talking to APP said the new drainage system would consist of two big drain tanks, while PC-1 of the project had been completed.
Construction work of the project would be started soon and completed within a month he added. To a question he said flooding of the basement of Holy Family Hospital was an inherent problem.
Last week’s flash flood that lashed the hospital due to heavy rain was an inherent problem as the old sewage system was not properly designed he said adding the sewage lines of the hospital were linked with the main line of Satellite Town, which culminates into Nullah Leh. Due to heavy rain that lashed the city, the water flowed backward from nullah Leh, inundating the basement, but the situation was controlled promptly.—APP
