Need for career counselling set-ups

Sahira Wahid

The main cities and institutes of higher studies lack the facility of career counselling to the educated youth. The shortage of dedicated academies creates multidimensional problems for the students. Wrong selection of subjects and poor career planning make their future uncertain that leads to frustration. The parents force the children to pursue the fields of their choice, and little attention is given to the aptitude of the young ones; so because of the wanting interest, they don’t perform well on such subjects. The youths face real confusion after matriculation merely for not being counselled concerning their career selection. So, the educational institutions should establish career-counselling set-ups in each city to help the students select a suitable career for them, which, in the long run, would contribute in the progress and prosperity of the country.
