Neck-to-neck competition predicted in LHCBA polls

Lahore—Ending their months long hectic campaign, two main rival groups of lawyers are now poised for a neck and neck straight fight for the president office of the Lahore High Court Bar Association on Saturday (today) when polling for this position and three others is going to held.
The polling will start from 9 am and continue till 5 pm with a lunch break of one hour. Five booths have set up for 21400 voters at LHC Bar association’s premises. Observers are rating the contest as one of the toughest fights in the bar more than a century old history.
Rana Zia Abdur Rehman and Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry have been backed by the professional group of Hamid Khan and Independent group of Asma Jehangir respectively.
For the seat of the vice president Sardar Tahir Shahbaz Khan, Chaudhry Mohammad Saleem, Rashid Lodhi, Mian Waseem Ahmed and MR Awan are down the field of candidates. Sharjil Adnan Sheikh, Anus Ghazi, Jawad Ashraf and Uzma Razzaq are the candidates for the seat of Secretary. Syed Asad Bukhari, Diba Khan and Aamir Zeeshan are for the seat of Secretary Finance.
First time in the history total election is going to be held through biometric system and 65 biometric machines were installed in five polling booths in the Lahore high court bar premises.
