Lahore—The University of Health Sciences (UHS) and National Ambulance Services College (NASC), Dublin, Ireland, have agreed to name Pakistan’s first National Ambulance Services College after Abdul Sattar Edhi.
The college is currently functioning under UHS Institute of Learning Emergency Medicine (ILEM). The college will now be called Edhi National Ambulance Services College, Pakistan.
It has also been decided to institute a gold medal in the name of late Abdul Sattar Edhi which will be awarded to the best student of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course every year. The college will also provide free training to the staff of Edhi Ambulance Service.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Pasha said that Sardar Muhammad served his service with full of dedication for the progress of the university.
He said UVAS got position among the top 10 universities of Pakistan, and said such achievement is the result of collective efforts of faculty members, students, support and administrative officer staff of the university. He also lauded the effort of the organizer to arrangedunique farewell event in the honor of Deputy RegistrarSardar Muhammad, and said such traditions become the identification of the institutions.
