TCKP starts online booking for 29 rest houses: MD
Islamabad—President Naran Valley Hotels Association Matiullah Khan Tuesday said the organisation had announced 25 percent discount for tourists on accommodation and 20 percent on food items during the Holy month of Ramazan . Talking to APP, he said “Every year we an-nounce a discount package for the tourists in the holy month of Ramazan , and this time it has been decided to give 25 percent discount on accommodation and 20 percent on food items.”
To a question, he said a good number of tourists are thronging the valley from different parts of the country to spend some days of Ramazan in the in the pleasent weather. To a question he asked the government to provide electricity to the tourists loving place, adding “We are using locally generated electricity from turbine and waiting from the government side to provide the electricity in the area,” he added.
Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) is also working on Ramazan package to give discount on accommodation in its motels and hotels during the holy month of Ramazan. It is a wonderful opportunity for tourists to spend their holy month of Ramazan at cool places on affordable rates said a spokesman of the PTDC .
With an objective to introduce Pakistani culture and tourist attractions on international level and since 1970, PTDC has been working hard to promote beautiful picnic spots situated in far-flung areas of Pakistan, especially where the private sector is shy to invest. PTDC is currently operating 13 Tourist Information Centres all over the country to provide information, travel guide, brochures and maps to tourists for planning their holidays, he added.
Peshawar: Managing Director, Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakthunkhwa (TCKP) has started online booking for 29 rest houses located at different picturesque areas of the province to provide better accommodation facilities to domestic and foreign tourists. Managing Director TCKP, Mushtaq Ahmed Khan told APP on Tuesday that Online Booking for 29 rest houses has been started in the province while modalities for its online payment were being chalked out for tourists’ assistance.
The details of online booking and online payment would be available on website of TCKP, he said, adding tourists from across the country would be allowed for online payment and booking in the said rest houses that would make very positive impact on tourism industry of the province.
The MD said 29 rest houses, which were earlier working under C&W and Forests departments, have been handed over to TCKP last year and has earned Rs6 million revenue only in July-August last year due to effective policies and better management.
The Government under a new initiative of ‘Camping Paradise would setup special tourists huts for accommodation of tourists at Tandyani , Shahram Manshera, Komrat Dir Upper, Bishgram Swat and Beer Manglash Chitral to provide accommodation facilities to tourists besides generate employment opportunities for local population.
These tourists huts would be protected by retired army personnel whose recruitment process was being started, he added. The MD said Tandyani, Shahram and Bishgram huts would be operational by June 30 next. Mushtaq said about 30 such huts would start working in next two years that would make KP a hub of tourism.
Five tourism projects would be launched in the province including cable cars facility at Naran Manshera, water parks/fishing spots and water sports at Hund Swabi over 400 kanals, construction of five star hotel on 96 kanals at Changa Gali Abbottabad, Theme Parak at Nathia Gali Abbottabad with an estimated cost of Rs400 million, promotion of facilities at archeological and religious places/sites besides bolstering mountain-eering tourism in the province.
