NAB should not be obstructed from working in Punjab

Lahore—Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has opposed setting up any institution over NAB and said it will not be of any use, the number of institutions will increase and process of justice will become doubtful.
Shujaat said the NAB Chairman was not made with consultation of the Leader of the House and the Leader of the Opposition but only through their mutual agreement and decision, it is also wrong conception to say there is nothing wrong with the NAB, there are many black sheep present in this institution also and these should also be made accountable, the dishonest people should be removed and officials with strong character be brought in.
He said that establishing more institutions over the institutions will increase corruption, new institution will also develop new methods of corruption. “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif by putting himself against NAB has showed his weakness, whatever shortcomings he thought were in NAB he should have warned NAB Chairman and concerned officers, undoubtedly change in NAB law is essential which be done easily through legislation, but any change at this stage is not proper, when N-League and PPP were together in the cabinet why this change was not effected then,” he said.
Now NAB is taking action in Punjab then its work should not be obstructed, law regarding plea bargaining and giving percentage as reward of the amount received through plea bargaining to the Investigation Officer should also be changed, he said. Moreover, Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has directed Presidents of all Wings in the Punjab to continue working as the Organizers.
He has removed all bodies of the party after which the Presidents of all wings have been appointed as the Organizers of respective fields.
