ISLAMABAD: Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid Thursday said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) recovered Rs 36.278 billion embezzled money from year 2013 to March 2017.
During the question-hour in the National Assembly, he said NAB authorized 3,035 inquiries, 1,251 investigations, filed 948 references and settled 582 cases through plea bargain during the period.
Answering a supplementary question, the minister said the recovered amount was handed over to the departments where the embezzlement was committed.
Replying to another question, Zahid Hamid said there were clear NAB laws to deal with accused, adding that firstly summons were issued and if accused failed to comply with, bailable warrants were served, then non-bailable warrants, following which courts declare accused absconder and then pass order to confiscate property of accused.
