NAB Karachi organized Anti-Corruption walk today in line with the International Anti-Corruption Day Govt of Sindh and Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) Karachi actively collaborated with NAB Karachi in organizing the event.
The Anti-Corruption Walk commenced at 3 pm from floating ship point and ended at Nishan-e-Pakistan Park at Karachi beach. DG NAB (K) Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem led the walk along with Senior officers of NAB.
DG NAB (K) Lt. Col (R) Siraj ul Naeem while delivering welcome speech extended gratitude to the participants and highlighted the importance of public awareness events. He said that under the Chairmanship of Mr. Qamar Zaman Chaudhary, Chairman NAB, the NAB (K) has been visibly improving upon its performance in terms of registration of complaints, disposal of the cases, filing of references and recoveries of looted money. He said currently NAB (K) has no case pending older than one year. Highlighting the role of all stakeholders and public representatives, he said that Government and opposition will have to join hands to eradicate the menace of corruption from the society.
While talking to the media he said that during the current year, so far NAB Karachi has recovered amount of Rs.1739 million of the looted money and returning to respective government departments. He reiterated the resolve to take forward the mission of NAB and to rid this society of the menace of corruption. DG NAB also gave away awards and cash prizes to the position holder students of various schools and colleges.
