NAB apprehends mill owner for not paying Rs94m electricity bill

Peshawar—NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested accused Daud Khan owner of Daud Steel Mills Bara Khyber Agency for willfully defaulting electricity bills worth Rs.94 Million causing huge loss to the national exchequer.
A spokesman for NAB said that the accused willfully default electricity bills for several years. Despite several notices he deliberately and intentionally refused to make good his dues. The NAB has decided to take to task all the big fishes who deviously and willfully defaulted electricity bills.
It merits to mention here that an MoU has been signed between NAB and Ministry of Water & Power to recover dues to tune of Rs.65 Billion from the defaulters of TESCO & PESCO and approximately Rs.70 Million has already been recovered by the Bureau.
Further inquiry is being actively pursued by NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and more arrests of the electricity defaulter are on card. The accused person will be presented before the Accountability Court for obtaining his physical custody.
Meanwhile, NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today arrested Bostan Khan property dealer resident of Haripur allegedly cheated public at large and looted Rs. 275 million rupees from innocent people fraudulently.
The NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa initiated inquiry against the accused and others upon receipt of several complaints. The accused in connivance with others transfer of low value lands to innocent people whereas showing them high value lands at time of deal/agreement to sell.
Thus depriving them from hard earned money and savings for life and causing a loss to member of general public by means of cheating to tune of Rs.275 million (claimed so far).
It merits to mention here that NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has already arrested accused Mehtab Ali Qureshi S/o Aftab Iqbal Qureshi, Malik Habib s/o Malik Abdul, Adil Showkat s/o Raja Shawkat alias Adil Kayani alias Major Adil alias Adil Hussain Shah alias Adnan Ali Shah alias Raja Adeelof Rawalpindi in the instant case.—APP
